Welcome!  I’m So Glad You’re Here

I’m grateful you’ve found your way here. I want to share about me and my life with honesty and full transparency as life hasn’t been linear for me. I’ve learned that every decision, even the hard ones, has shaped who I am. I’ve walked tough paths, sometimes by choice and sometimes by circumstance, but I don’t live life with regrets. I believe the lessons I’ve learned are meant to guide and support others, maybe even you.

Where I’m From

I was born and raised in Nova Scotia, on Canada’s East Coast. My roots are in Dartmouth, first in Eastern Passage and later in the North End, where I spent most of my teen and young adult years.

In my early 20s, I moved to Halifax for college, training to be an executive assistant. Like many, I worked service jobs through my 20s, spending years in a busy sports bar ,  learning more about people, pressure, and persistence than I had ever expected.

Meeting My Husband & a Life-Altering Move

While still bartending, I took a vacation with my mom to Mexico, where I unexpectedly met my future husband. We kept in touch, and while he planned a visit to Canada, I realized I needed a bigger change.

At that time, I was starting to rely heavily on alcohol and marijuana. I was working for tips, spending most of what I earned the same night, and my professional and personal life was severely unraveling. I wasn’t happy, and I for sure didn’t have a plan,  but I knew I needed something different.

So, I made the move. I sold nearly everything I owned, quit my job, and bought a one-way ticket to Mexico.

Building a new life

We rented an apartment, and I lived off my savings while we got to know each other. Just before I was set to return to Canada, I learned I was pregnant, but miscarried shortly after. That loss became a turning point. We realized we wanted to build a life together, and in May 2016, we were married in a small but meaningful ceremony surrounded by his family and friends.

In January 2017, I officially relocated to Mexico. A year later, our daughter Mila was born.

My Start in Remote Work

While pregnant, I met someone working remotely for a Canadian call center. I’d never owned a laptop or worked online before, but I was restless, out of savings, and desperately needed purpose. After reaching out to the company, I got hired. My first job was taking orders for Papa John’s. Over time, I grew with the company, taking on work for 11 companies, and eventually becoming a scheduler for a supportive housing organization, all while learning and experimenting with virtual assistant work on the side.

Freelancing, Growth & Burnout

After Mila was born, I had free time during her naps, and I needed a creative outlet. I taught myself video editing for YouTube, explored blogging, and became fascinated by how people were monetizing content online. But I wasn’t interested in glamorizing life in Meico or putting my child on the internet. What I did see was a growing need for support in the online business world, and an opportunity to put my skills to use.

I landed my first VA client just as COVID hit. What started as a small admin task quickly grew into a full-scale digital transformation project. I learned how to help brick-and-mortar businesses move online, fast! I sat in on marketing meetings, did CRM set ups, created content, all while soaking up everything I could business related. I was working full days with clients and logging into the call center at night, all while home alone with a toddler while my husband worked all day.

Eventually, I burned out.

I was exhausted, overcommitted, and undercharging for the value I was bringing to the table. So I made a decision: I quit the call center, doubled my rates, and stopped saying yes to work that didn’t respect my time, skills, or boundaries.

Where I Am Now

Today, I work part-time with a creative agency specializing in podcasting, video production, and web management. I manage projects, streamline systems, and support clients with the tech that keeps their businesses running. I work 3–4 hours a day, fully remote, and I’m intentional about how I spend my time.

It hasn’t always been easy. I’ve cried through some of the work and pushed through tasks I hated. But every step has built resilience, knowledge, and purpose.

I’m far from finished. I have so many more projects I want to create, and I’m passionate about helping others who want to build a life of freedom, flexibility, and meaning.

If that sounds like you, you’re in the right place.
